Green Network Energy, bucking the trend of cutting down pines for Christmas festivities, has launched an initiative for planting new trees in Sila Piccola, in the Spineto area, adjacent to the Sila National Park.
The number of trees that will be sown will depend of the amount of “energy” that will be unleashed on the web page dedicated to the project.
Cultivation figures will relate to the number of interactions (access and sharing on social networks - Facebook, Google+ - and e-mail) generated by users on http://natale2016.greennetwork.it/ page
Participation in the Green Christmas Trees project is open to all the holders of a Facebook, Google+ or a simple e-mail account, who must just login to the page on the initiative.
An interaction (access) that is created will virtually generate 10 Wh of energy. Each time 5000 Wh of energy is obtained, Green Network Energy will undertake to plant one tree.
An “energy” accelerator is also part of the job: share the project via your social page and double the energy unleashed (20 Wh).
The goal of this venture is to create awareness regarding the cutting down of trees for Christmas and the destruction of flora in general.
The planting of just one tree enables us to knock down CO2 in the range of 10 kg to 20 kg per year.
Upon conclusion of the programme, the results will be communicated through the web and the participants will receive a thank you email message.
Finally, all documentation about the “Green Network Energy” grove will be made available.
The planting will be entrusted to “Give a Tree” “Regala un Albero”: the tool through which the commitment of compliance with the Kyoto Protocol becomes tangible.
